On Christmas Day, we performed at the local elderly care home, up the street from our house. It’s our third year doing it at Christmas; the first year we played there just one month after moving here; and last year, we had to do it via video because of Covid restrictions. Before we moved to Italy, we travelled to Europe 5-6 times a year, usually for one week at a time. Summer with Orsini Virtuosi (a.k.a. Little Roads Plays Music!)

Aside from our work creating itineraries for travelers, we’ve been busy organizing and performing concerts in our corner of Italy: from Narnia in Umbria, to Chianti in Toscana, to concerts at castles in our own region. We’ve formed a duo called Orsini Virtuosi - the name is a nod to the Orsini castle that rises on the hill at the top of our town of Soriano nel Cimino.

Wine Tasting in Cortona

On our way home from the Casentino yesterday, we stopped at Azienda Agricola Leuta Vineyard in Cortona to do a wine tasting with author and sommelier Jennifer Criswell.

This small organic winery produces just 30,000 bottles a year. To put that in context, the famous Tuscan winery “Antinori” produces 20,000,000 bottles a year.

We were both so grateful to have the chance to taste and learn yesterday, in true “Little Roads” fashion…
